Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A251 Faversham Road, Challock. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A251 Faversham Road, Challock from 7th June 2026 with estimated completion by 8th June 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between National Timber Buildings to Chambers Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A251 Ashford Road, M2, A2 Boughton Bypass, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap Green, Wincheap, Thanington Road, Ashford Road, Canterbury Road, A252 Maidstone Road, The Street, Canterbury Road and A251 Faversham Road.
All non-motorway traffic will be escorted through site.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
B2082 Smallhythe Road, Tenterden. (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on part of B2082 Smallhythe Road, Tenterden from 4th June 2026 with estimated completion by 11th June 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary 40 mph speed restriction will be imposed in the vicinity of Pickhill House/Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
This is in conjunction with temporary two-way traffic signals.
Boys Hall Road, Willesborough, TN24 0HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Boys Hall Road, Willesborough from 1st June 2026, with estimated completion by 9th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 5, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boys Hall Road, Canterbury Road, Crowbridge Link, Crowbridge Road, The Boulevard, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, Bad Munstereifel Road, A2070 From M20 J10 Roundabout To J A2042 S, Barrey Road, Willesborough Interchange, A2070 M20 J10 Roundabout, A2070 Spur From M20 J10, A292 Hythe Road, Church Road, Sevington Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bulltown Lane, Brabourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bulltown Lane, Brabourne from 21st May 2026 with estimated completion by 22nd May 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite Bulltown Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bulltown Lane, Plumpton, Green Lane, Weekes Lane, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cheesemans Green Lane, Kingsnorth. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cheesemans Green Lane, Kingsnorth from 19th May 2026, with estimated completion by 22nd May 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Pattison, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cheesemans Green Lane, Church Road, Bad Munstereifel Road, A2070 From M20 J10 Roundabout To J A2042 S, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, Bad Munstereifel Slip West Bound Off, Hythe Road Roundabout, A2070 J A2042 Roundabout, Bad Munstereifel Slip East Bound On, Hamstreet Bypass, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, Violet Way, Finn Farm Road, Rutledge Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Feather Bed Lane, Kingsnorth. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow water mains works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Feather Bed Lane, Kingsnorth from 1st June 2026, with estimated completion by 12th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Chequer Tree Farm Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Feather Bed Lane, Cheesemans Green Lane, Rutledge Avenue, Finn Farm Road, Brockmans Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Flood Street, Mersham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Flood Street, Mersham from 20th May 2026 with estimated completion by 21st May 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Broad Oak heading approximately 100m in a northerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Stour Road, Coopers Lane, Colliers Hill, Chequer Tree Farm Road, Frith Road, Roman Road, Calleywell Lane, Station Road, Evegate Mill Lane, A20 Hythe Road, The Street, Bower Road, Church Road, Flood Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden, TN26 3HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden from 1st June 2026 with estimated completion by 2nd June 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 40m north from Dent’s Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, Pot Kiln Lane, Bull Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Biddenden Road, High Halden Lane, Tenterden Road, High Halden Road, Wagstaff Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Laws Lane, Mersham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Laws Lane, Mersham from 20th May 2026 with estimated completion by 22nd May 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Bank Road and Frith Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bank Road, Frith Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lees Road, Brabourne, TN25 5LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow water mains works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lees Road, Brabourne from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 17th July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Manor Pound Lane and Mountbatten Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bridge Road, Plain Road, Canterbury Road, Manor Pound Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Nortons Lane, Tenterden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Nortons Lane, Tenterden from 1st June 2026 with estimated completion by 2nd June 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 130m south of Childrens Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Nortons Lane, A262 Biddenden Road, A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road, Readers Bridge Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Olantigh Road, Wye. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Olantigh Road, Wye from 19th May 2026, with estimated completion by 21st May 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Olantigh Gate House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Olantigh Road, High Street, Churchfield Way, Bridge Street, Bramble Lane, A28 Canterbury Road, The Street, Olantigh Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ongley Lane, Biddenden, TN27 8HF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ongley Lane, Biddenden from 1st June 2026, with estimated completion by 3rd June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside East Ongley Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ongley Lane, A262 Hareplain Road, Sissinghurst Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rosemary Lane, Smarden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow new electrical works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rosemary Lane, Smarden from 1st June 2026 with estimated completion by 3rd June 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Bedlam Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bedlam Lane, Headcorn Road, Bell Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Selling Road, Chilham, CT4 8BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Selling Road, Chilham from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 20th May 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hobbiton, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Selling Road, New Cut Road, A52 Maidstone Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Shalmsford Road, Lower Lees Road and vice versa.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Beale Lands Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shawlands Lane, Hookstead, A28 Ashford Road, Cripple Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Thorne Estate, Pluckley, TN27 0RW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Thorne Estate, Pluckley from 2nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 4th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 18 Thorne Estates, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wissenden Green, Bethersden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wissenden Green, Bethersden from 18th May 2026, with estimated completion by 22nd May 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Odiam, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tuesnoad Lane, Pluckley Road, Norton Lane, Wissenden Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Woodchurch Road, High Halden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2026
To allow new water meter works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Woodchurch Road, High Halden from 20th May 2026, with estimated completion by 22nd May 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Old Place Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodchurch Road, Church Hill, A28 Ashford Road, Woodchurch Road, Bethersden Road, Plurenden Road and vice versa.
