Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Higher Backway - from 12 metres west of the junction with Cheeks Lane, westwards for a total distance of 38 metres. This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out interim to permanent reinstatement works.
The Order becomes effective on 22nd May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 28th May 2026 and last until 29th May 2026 between the hours of 10:00 - 14:00 for a total of 2 days. There is no alternative route for this closure.
