What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (EXMOUTH STREET AND FIFE STREET, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of;

(i) Exmouth Street, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Bath Street, extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length.

Alternative Route: via Hartington Street, Blake Street and Bath Street.

Duration: From 13th May 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/18344)

(ii) Fife Street, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Greengate Street, extending in a north westerly for its entire length.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

Duration: From 25th May 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/18358)

The Order will come into operation on 13th May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
