(A587 CRESCENT WEST AND A675 VICTORIA ROAD WEST, THORNTON CLEVELEYES, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from to turning right on the following lengths of highway;
I. A675 Victoria Road West at its junction with A587 Victoria Square.
II. A587 Crescent West at its junction with A675 Victoria Road West
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Monday 1st June 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 5th June 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Victoria Road West
Crescent East - Anchorsholme Lane West - Fleetwood Street.
Crescent West
Rossal Road - Brighton Avenue.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow traffic light refurbishment works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
