Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders 2026 - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("RTRA 1984"), hereby give notice that:
ii) They Have Made Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
Burgh St. Peter With Wheatacre – U76292 Pit Road from its junction with C388 Beccles Road to its junction with U76293 Church Lane.
To facilitate the installation of new fibre network works from 11th to 17th May 2026 (may continue until 28th June 2026).
Alternative route is via: Beccles Road, White Lion Road, Church Road, Station Road, Burgh Road (Aldeby, Wheatacre, Burgh St. Peter).
Access will be available to Oaks Lane and Church Lane up to the points of closure.
The works promoter is CityFibre Holdings Limited.
Burston And Shimpling – C205 Station Road at its intersection with the level crossing for 10m eastwards and 10m westwards.
To facilitate railway track maintenance works between 00:30 and 07:00 on 10th May 2026 (may continue until 21st June 2026).
Alternative route is via: Station Road, Crown Green, Diss Road, Durbidges Hill, Burston Road, Heywood Road, Mount Street, Sunnyside, Shelfanger Road, Denmark Street, Park Road, Victoria Road, A140, Dickleburgh Road (Diss, Heywood, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Scole, Burston and Shimpling).
The works promoter is Network Rail.
Costessey – U78398 Upper Stafford Avenue from its junction with U78264 Three Mile Lane for 120m westwards.
To facilitate installation of new water connection works from 13th to 15th May 2026 (may continue until 26th June 2026).
Alternative route is via: Upper Stafford Avenue, Stafford Avenue, Dereham Road, Richmond Road, Middleton Crescent, Grove Avenue, Three Mile Lane.
The works promoter is Anglian Water.
Deopham And Hackford – U78056 Park Lane from its junction with U78214 Top Road for 410m northwards.
To facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 14th May 2026 (may continue until 25th June 2026).
Alternative route is via: Top Road, Park Lane, Low Common, Church Road, Vicarage Road, Wymondham Road (Morley, Deopham, Wicklewood).

Diss – A) C472 Heywood Road from its junction with U76269 The Heywood for 90m southwards and;
B) C472 Burston Road from its junction with U76269 The Heywood for 50m eastwards. To facilitate new water connection works from 11th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026).
Alternative route is via: Heywood Road, Mount Street, Sunnyside, Shelfanger Road, Denmark Street, Park Road, Victoria Road, Diss Road, A140, Dickleburgh Road, Pug Street, Burston Road, Station Road, Crown Green, Durbidges Hill (Heywood, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Scole, Burston and Shimpling, Diss).
The works promoter is TMO.
Great Melton – C168 Pockthorpe Road from its junction with U78006 Burdock Lane for 420m southwards.
To facilitate cabling works from 11th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026).
Alternative route is via: Pockthorpe Road, Melton Road, High Green, Hall Road, Burdock Lane.

Hales And Heckingham – U76349 Briar Lane from its joining with 7R0731 Heckingham FP2 for 60m south-westwards.
To facilitate the installation of HV circuit works for the new development from 13th to 29th May 2026 (may continue until 10th July 2026).
Alternative route is via: Briar Lane, Yarmouth Road, Ferry Road, Farm Road (Hales & Heckingham, Raveningham).
The works promoter is The Electricity Network Company Limited.
Loddon – C554 Beccles Road from its junction with U71779 Town Farm Drive for 25m southwards.
To facilitate apparatus connection works from 11th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026).
Alternative route is via: Beccles Road, High Street, Church Plain, Bridge Street, George Lane, A146 Loddon Bypass.
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
Scoulton And Rocklands – C130 Golden Corner/Scoulton Road from 420m west of its junction with U33141 Scoulton Road for 380m southwards.
To facilitate carriageway patching works from 11th to 15th May 2026 (may continue until 26th June 2026).
Alternative route is via: C130 Ellingham Road, B1108 Norwich Road, B1077 Caston Road/Carbrooke Road/Brayes Lane, C130 Bell Lane/Scoulton Road and vice versa (Carbrooke, Caston, Stow Bedon and Breckles, Scoulton, Rocklands).

Seething – C372 Wheelers Lane from its junction with C373 Seething Street for 335m westwards.
To facilitate fibre network installation works from 11th to 17th May 2026 (may continue until 28th June 2026).

Alternative route is via: Southery Bypass A10, Modney Hall Road/Lynn Road/Fordham Bypass, A1122 Southern Bypass/Western Bypass, Station Road, Bridge Road, Downham Road, High Street, Outwell Road, Wisbech Road, Isle Road, Town Street, New Road, Townsend Road, Main Road, Welney Road, Main Street, Wash Road, Bates Drove, A1101 Wisbech Road, A10 Lynn Road, Ferry Bank (Downham West, Nordelph, Denver, Downham Market, Littleport, Hilgay, Fordham, Ryston, Welney, Outwell, Upwell, Southery). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: Please note the works will be carried out in 3 phases:
Phase 1 is anticipated to be closed between 19:00 and 05:00 from 15th to 16th May 2026.
Phase 2 is anticipated to be closed between 19:00 and 05:00 from 3rd to 4th June 2026.
Phase 3 is anticipated to be closed between 19:00 and 05:00 from 11th to 12th June 2026.
West Walton – School Road from its junction with Lynn Road for 2000m westwards.
To facilitate the passing of wide load vehicle works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 11th May to 8th June 2026 (may continue until 8th December 2026).
Alternative route is via: N/A.

Wimbotsham – C788 Church Road from 100m west of its junction with C884 Lynn Road for 30m westwards.
To facilitate electrical power installation works from 11th to 14th May 2026 (may continue until 25th June 2026).
Alternative route is via: Church Road, Lynn Road, Low Road (Downham Market, Wimbotsham).
The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
The team dealing with enquiries at Norfolk County Council is West Streetworks.
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
