What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH)
(STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019 (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (GROVE LANE) (B1059) (FOXHALL ROAD) (B1059) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.49) ORDER 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 1 of Map Tile GL125 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile and substitute revision 2 of Map Tile GK125 in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order.
The effect of this would be to:
• introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ on Grove Lane (B1059):
- from the northern side of its junction with Kings Avenue (U2414) for a distance of 21.4m in a northerly direction;
- from the southern side of its junction with Kings Avenue (U2414) for a distance of 4.6m in a southerly direction;
- at a point approx. 5m south of the junction with Kings Avenue (U2414) for a distance of 13.5m in a southerly direction;
• introduce ‘No Waiting Monday - Saturday 8am - 6pm’ on Grove Lane (B1059) from the northern side of its junction with Alexandra Park for a distance of 10.4m in a northerly direction;
• remove ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ on: Grove Lane (B1059):
- from the southern junction with Kings Avenue (U2414) for 27.2m south;
- At the north side of the Alexandra Park access for 11.1m;
- At the south side of the Alexandra Park access for 5.9m;
- At the east side outside of properties nos. 35 - 45 for 28.2m;
- At the west side outside of properties 32 - 38 for 29.8m;
- Foxhall Road (B1059) on both sides outside of property nos. 7 - 8 for 2.9m.
Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.
Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Suffolk County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9am - 6pm, Tuesday and Friday: 9am - 7pm, Saturday: 8.30am - 5pm, Sunday: 10am - 4pm.
