TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 4th May 2026.

1. The effect of the Order will be:

a) To close Lordswood Road (westbound) for its entire length.

b) To close Dale Valley Road from its junction with Lordswood Road to 30m south of its junction with Lordswood Road.

c) To close Dunkirk Road from its junction with Lordswood Road to 30m north of its junction with Lordswood Road.

d) To suspend the prohibited right turn restriction from Winchester Road into Warren Avenue.

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for gas main replacements.

3. The alternative routes will be Winchester Road, Hill Lane, Romsey Road, Lordshill Way, Dale Valley Road, Dale Road, Dunkirk Road and Coxford Road.

4. The Order will come into force on 11th May 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 31st July 2026.
