What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(Dereham, Various Roads) - (Prohibition Of Waiting) Consolidation And Variation Order 2026
The Norfolk County Council has made the aforementioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereafter ‘the Act’) on the 5th May 2026 and which will come into effect on the 14th May 2026:
The effect of this Order will be to:
1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Dereham, Various Roads) (Prohibition of Waiting) Amendment Order 2020; The Norfolk County Council (Dereham, Westfield Road and Hawkins Drive) (Prohibition of Waiting) Amendment Order 2023 and The Norfolk County Council (Dereham, Various Roads) (Prohibition of Waiting) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026 whereby the existing lengths of road will not be changed just re-produced in this consolidation Order, except as per the variation detailed below:
2. Extend the prohibition of waiting along Hawkins Drive from 8 metres east of the centreline of its junction with the U35022 Westfield Road eastwards for a distance of 56 metres.
The Orders referred within this notice have been consolidated for clarity and efficient administration of the restrictions. As part of the consolidation the existing Orders are being updated to reflect current legislation, or being clarified to make them clearer, or being amended to correct minor errors.
Any person who desires to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may within six weeks from the 5th May 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Copies are also available for inspection at: Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH, and at: The Offices Of Breckland District Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, NR19 1EE, during normal office hours.
