What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) The Crescent (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Station Road to its property known as No.03 The Crescent to enable Openreach Limited to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via The Crescent (unaffected length) – A350 – Station Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 for 1 day. B) C211 (Part), Broughton Gifford; from its junction with Newleaze Park to its property known as No.128 The Street to enable Wessex Water Services Limited to carry out works on manhole cover and associated works. Alternative route via C211 (unaffected length) – C212 – B3107 – C211 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation at 09:00 on 01 June 2026 and the closure will be required 24 hours a day until 10 June 2026. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

C) Eastbourne Road (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Eastbourne Gardens for a distance of approximately 40m in a southerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out electricity pole replacement and associated works. Alternative route via Eastbourne Road (unaffected length) – Harford Street – Ashton Street – Eastbourne Gardens and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 May 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. D) Lockridge Close, Trowbridge; from its junction with Wiltshire Drive for its entire length to enable Openreach Limited to carry out ducting and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 13 May 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. E) Jones Hill (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Southleigh to its property known as No.44 Frome Road to enable Openreach Limited to carry out overhead cabling and associated works. Alternative route via Jones Hill (unaffected length) – B3109 – C216 – C217 – C222 – Lye Green – Jones Hill (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 May 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Orders A) to E) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

A) Footpath 25 (Part), Bromham; from its junction with A342 for a distance of approximately 210m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water is constructing a 500m³ flood alleviation underground storage tank in the area. The project requires a section of Footpath 25, Bromham to be used for construction access and a new pipework connection, crossing beneath the existing footpath. Permanent gates will be put in place to ensure safe segregation of the footpath users from this access. Alternative route via Footpath 25, Bromham – Footpath 22, Bromham – Footpath 23, Bromham – A342 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 30 November 2026. B) Footpath 32 (Part), Westwood; from its junction with Jones Hill for a distance of approximately 95m in a north easterly direction to enable demolition of existing building. Alternative route via public highways and rights of way. This Order will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and it is anticipated the closure will be required until 31 July 2026. C) Footpath 10 (Part), Warminster; from its junction with Footpath 8, Warminster for a distance of approximately 220m in a southerly direction to enable Construct of main Spine Road, connecting P2 phase (planning application ref PL/2022/00889) with P3 phase (planning application ref PL/2024/03667), which will form the new permanent PROW route in lieu of WARM 10. Closure required due to close proximity and high construction activity, where we need to install drainage infrastructure, plot foundations, services which poses a Health & Safety issue. Alternative route via Footpath 8, Warminster – signed route and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 30 November 2026. D) Byway 1 (Part), Chitterne; from its junction with B390 to its junction with Bridleway 14, Chitterne to enable existing byway has become dangerous due to poor drainage and erosion of the base material. We have been contracted by the DIO to install new drainage and replace the 40mm from the B90 with a concrete slab to improve the safety for users. Alternative route for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians only via Bridleway 14, Chitterne – B390 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 May 2026 and it is anticipated the closure will be required until 20 July 2026. E) Bridleway 1 (Part), Kingston Deverill; from its junction with Bridleway 10, Maiden Bradley with Yarnfield for a distance of approximately 70m in an easterly direction to enable bridge repair. No alternative route is available. This closure which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 11 May 2026 and the closure will be required until 10 November 2026.
