(VARIOUS ROADS) (MOVING TRAFFIC AND SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025 THE SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS) (MOVING TRAFFIC AND SPEED LIMIT) AMENDMENT NO. 2 ORDER 2026 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The Southend-on-Sea City Council has made the above named Order under Sections 65(1), 81, 84, 85, 87, 122 and 124 (and parts I, II and IV of Schedule 9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act.
The effect of this Order coming into effect on 9th May 2026 is as follows:
- To introduce a 20mph Speed Limit Zone on Meacham Way, Shoeburyness for its entire length and on Railtrack Way, Shoeburyness for its entire length.
- To replace Map Tile W28 Revision 0 from Schedule 2 of The 2025 Order with Map Tile W28 Revision 1 of this Order.
Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 9th May 2026, the statement of reasons for making the Order and plans showing the affected streets can be inspected during normal office hours, inclusive for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made:
- At the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 6ER,
- Online via our map based Order system, TraffWeb App using the following link: https://southend.traffweb.app, and
- Online via the Councils website using the following link https://www.southend.gov.uk/tro
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
