THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a)VARIOUS LOCATIONS, CLEETHORPES(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC - TTRO (26-089) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be as follows:

The streets listed below will be subject to a temporary ONE WAY DIRECTION OF TRAVEL -

• SHORT STREET - with traffic travelling in an east bound direction only.

• MARKET STREET - with traffic travelling in an east bound direction only.
No person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle or cycle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway -

• MARKET STREET (CAR PARK AREAS ONLY) - Designated loading bays will be available solely for business deliveries and authorised business loading/ unloading purposes during the closure.

• CROSS STREET - From its adjoining junction with SHORT STREET, for the full extent. Loading requirements via the rear access yard will be maintained throughout.
Alternative route: Short Street, Market Street, Alexandra Road, High Street.

• COSGROVE STREET - From its junction with MARKET STREET, in a south easterly direction, for a distance of 45 metres. The remainder of COSGROVE STREET will be temporarily converted to TWO-WAY direction of travel. Alternative route: Cosgrove Street, Albert Road, Alexandra Road, High Street, St Peters Avenue, Short Street.

• MARKET PLACE FOOTWAY - the full extent of the footway on the southern side located between the junctions of MILL PLACE and DOLPHIN STREET.

• DOLPHIN STREET FOOTWAY - Both sides of DOLPHIN STREET, from its junction with MARKET STREET, in a south easterly direction, for a distance of 12 metres.

• MARKET STREET FOOTWAY - a section on the southern side of MARKET STREET, from the eastern kerb line of DOLPHIN STREET, in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres.
This is temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by North East Lincolnshire Council. These works are detailed as public realm works.

The order will come into operation on Monday, 18 May 2026, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until Tuesday, 12 January 2027. Definitive dates and times will be notified with on-site advanced warning signs.
