5. The Order will come in operation on 18 May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(ELM WALK AND GRAND DRIVE, SW20) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate an electrical supply connection in Grand Drive, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily suspend parking in Elm Walk.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Elm Walk, north side, from the common property boundary of Nos. 11 and 13 Elm Walk to its junction with Grand Drive.

3. The restrictions and suspensions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Nothing in the Order would apply:

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

5. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

6. The Order would come into operation on Monday 18th May 2026 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed within 5 days. However, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be required.
