ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(QUICKS ROAD, SW19) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate sewer works in Quicks Road they have made an Order, the effects of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
  2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:-
    (a) enter or proceed in Quicks Road, from its junction with Hamilton Road to its junction with Merton Road;
    (b) wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Quicks Road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
  3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Quicks Road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works in the said road.
  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
  5. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Merton Road, Ridley Road and Wycliffe Road or vice-versa.
  6. Nothing in the Order will apply:-
    (a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
    (d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to, the length of Quicks Road specified in paragraph 2(a) above insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the works.
  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
  8. The Order will come into operation on Monday 18th May 2026 and the works are anticipated to be completed on Friday 22nd May 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(UPPER GREEN WEST, MITCHAM) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate reinstatement works in Upper Green West, Mitcham, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road and suspend the one-way working in Upper Green West.
  2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:-
    (a) enter or proceed in Upper Green West, Mitcham, the northern arm, from its junction with London Road to its junction with the south-western arm of Upper Green West; or
    (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in paragraph (a) above.
  3. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
  4. During the works, the following will be suspended:-
    (a) the one-way working in Upper Green West, the northern arm;
    (b) the bus only route in London Road, between its junction with Upper Green West, the northern arm, and its junction with Upper Green West, the south-western arm.
  5. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
  6. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-
    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
    (d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
  7. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via London Road and Upper Green West, the south-western arm.
  8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
  9. The Order will come into operation on Wednesday 13 May 2026 and will remain in force for 3 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(PARKSIDE GARDENS, SW19) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate crane operations in Parkside Gardens, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.
  2. During the works, no person will:-
    (a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Parkside Gardens, from its junction with Lampton House Close northward for a distance of 60 metres;
    (b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Parkside Gardens specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;
    (c) enter or proceed in the western footway of the length of Parkside Gardens specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
  3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Parkside Gardens specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
  5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Parkside Avenue, Parkside and Calonne Road, or vice-versa; or
  6. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.
  7. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-
    (a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or
    (d) any person requiring pedestrian or vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
  8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
  9. The Order will come into operation on Monday 18 May 2026 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on that day between the hours of 8am and 6pm, with back-up dates of Monday 25 May 2026 and Monday 1 June 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 3 months should the works be delayed or further works be required.

VARIOUS ROADS
BOROUGH-WIDE RE-ACTIVE CARRIAGEWAY REPAIRS
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to enable carriageway repair works to be undertaken, they have made an Order, the effects of which will be to restrict vehicular traffic on the short lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
  2. During the works no person shall cause or permit any unauthorised vehicle to:-
    (a) enter or proceed; or
    (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading, in various lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Existing marked parking places in the various lengths of said roads will be suspended.

Note: The works are expected to commence on 18 May 2026 and be carried out on a rolling basis. Warning signs will be posted on the road 3 days before the works are expected to take place and cones will be put in place prior to implementation of the works. The works are expected to take 1 day on each road, but may take longer if there are any unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.

  1. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as indicated by the placing of prescribed signs.
  2. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-
    (a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or
    (b) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
