NOTICE is given that on 5 May 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The orders, which come into force on 8 May introduces 40mph speed limits on the roads leading to/from the A34 slip junction at Hampton Gay & Poyle as follows:
1. A34 on-slip road (northbound) – from its roundabout junction with Bicester Road, north-eastwards to a point 35 metres northeast of its junction with Oxford Road,
2. A34 off-slip road (southbound) – from its roundabout junction with Bicester Road, north-eastwards to a point 160 metres northeast of its junction with Kidlington Road,
3. Bicester Road – from the Kidlington Parish boundary, north-eastwards to (and including) its roundabout junction with the A34 on/off-slip roads,
4. Kidlington Road – from its junction with the A34 off-slip road (southbound), south-eastwards for a distance of 115 metres,
5. Oxford Road – from its junction with the A34 on-slip road (northbound), northwards to a point 450 metres southeast of its junction with Bletchingdon Road/Church Lane.
Additionally, the 30mph speed limit at Hampton Poyle is scheduled & incorporated into this new parish-wide speed limit order with no other changes.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Kidlington and Gosford & Water Eaton) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 is revoked/replaced.

5. (A417 FARINGDON TO WANTAGE ROAD) (50 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that on 5 May 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The orders, which come into force on 8 May – as part of ‘Vision Zero’ road safety campaign – introduces 50mph speed limit on the A420 Swindon to Oxford road in place of the existing sections of 60mph National speed limit in order as to create a continuous limit between Bourton & Hinton Waldrist as follows:
1. From the 50mph speed limit at Bourton, north-eastwards to the 50mph speed limit terminal northeast of the Watchfield roundabout.
2. From the 50mph speed limit at Great/Little Coxwell, north-eastwards to the 50mph speed limit terminal at Wadley Lodge/Manor at Littleworth.
Additional speed limit amendments will be made on roads adjacent to the A420 to help facilitate the new limit as follows:
1. 50mph speed limits:
a. Faringdon Road (Watchfield) – from its roundabout junction with the A420 Oxford Road, south-westwards for a distance of 25 metres;
b. Fernham Road (Little Coxwell) – from its junction with the A420, southwards to a point 30 metres south of its junction with Bridleway No.278/2/10;
c. Park Road (Faringdon) – from its junction with the A420, north-westwards for a distance of 34 metres;
d. London Street (Faringdon) – from its junction with the A420, westwards for a distance of 60 metres;
e. A417 Stanford Road – from its junction with the A420, south-eastwards to the current 50mph speed limit, a distance of approx. 105 metres.
2. 40mph speed limit:
London Street – from a point 60 metres west of the A420 to the 20mph speed limit east of its junction with Sudbury Court.
The following orders are revoked/replaced as necessary: A420 Trunk Road (Watchfield to Little Coxwell and Littleworth to Longworth) (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 1993, the Oxfordshire County Council A420 Oxford – Swindon Road, Bourton (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2009, Oxfordshire County Council (A417 Faringdon to Wantage, Vale of White Horse District) (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2007, the Oxfordshire County Council (Faringdon) (Speed Limits) Order 2023, the Oxfordshire County Council (Longcot, Shrivenham & Watchfield) (Speed Limits) Order 2023, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Great Coxwell and Little Coxwell) (Speed Limits) Order 2023.

1. (OXFORD CITY – VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**
2. (OXFORD CITY) (BOTLEY ROAD RAILWAY BRIDGE) (HEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders – in support of the ‘Oxfordshire Connect – Oxford Rail Station & Area Upgrade project – comprise of the following measures:
1. Remove in its entirety the existing shared-use (Permit Holders or 2 hrs Limited Waiting, Mon-Sat, 8am–6.30pm) parking bay on the western side of Cripley Road north of its junction with Botley Road, and also remove the initial 7.5 metres of the existing ‘Permit Holders Only’ parking bay to the north, all to be replaced with new ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ prohibition.
2. Introduce a new 4.4m (14ft 6in) maximum height restriction to cover that area of Botley Road beneath the rail bridges which pass over the carriageway. An exemption will be included for local buses that are deemed suitable/safe for passage beneath (based on height).
The Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford City – Various Roads) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 will be further amended as necessary, updating Map Tile: ‘EV63’ in the process.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent on-line or in writing to the address below by the end of 05 June 2026. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.
