Further to notice: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 09 April 2026.
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 5, White Notley in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 160 metres west of its junction with Witham Road
The closure is scheduled to commence on 30 April 2026 weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to a collapsed bridge. The work to make it safe will be programmed in due course.
Alternative route; Pole Lane, FP18, Witham Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect 30 April 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the bridge has been made safe, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hawkspur Green Road, Little Sampford/Little Sampford Road, Little Bardfield/Bell Lane, Great Bardfield in the District of Uttlesford and District of Braintree, from the junction of Hall Road to the junction of High Street a distance of approximately 4320m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2404684, EP201EH2406506 & EP201EH2406507 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Hall Road, B1053, B1057 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 14th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maldon Road, Kelvedon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Kelvedon in the District of Braintree, from its junction with London Road to its junction with Kelvedon Road a distance of approximately 730m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2393006 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Kelvedon Road, Braxted Road, Henry Dixon Road, Oak Road, Church Road, Park Road, Parkgate Road, Hollow Road, Church Hill, Church Street, High Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 14th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.15) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 14th May 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Folly Green, Stisted in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Tumblers Green for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th May 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310783611 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close that length of Hatfield Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from both of its junctions with Hatfield Road – Gershwin Boulevard Roundabout for a distance of approximately 200m in a north easterly direction.
- To temporarily close that length of Hatfield Road – Gershwin Boulevard Roundabout, Witham in the District of Braintree, entire roundabout a distance of approximately 110m.
- To temporarily close that length of Gershwin Boulevard, Witham in the District of Braintree from both of its junctions with Hatfield Road – Gershwin Boulevard Roundabout for a distance of approximately 110m in a south easterly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 19th May 2026 for 2 nights (19:00 - 05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP40090510072, EP40070444429 & EP40059266071 – MACL LTD). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Hill, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 15m north east of its junction with Megs Hill for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th May 2026 for 1 night (22:00 - 05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701BRA-18-26-180526 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while structure examination works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Cressing in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 230m south east of its junction with Bulford Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th May 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03167697822 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford and District of Braintree as specified in the schedule to this Order.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
