Portsmouth City Council (Charlotte Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.79) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 11th May 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
CHARLOTTE STREET
From its junction with Cascades Approach to its junction with Lake Road.
LANDPORT VIEW
From its junction with Toby Street to its junction with Charlotte Street.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate resurfacing works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 11th May 2026 to 12th June 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place Monday to Friday between 07:00 - 17:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Cascades Approach, Hope Street Roundabout, Market Way, Market Way Roundabout, Commercial Road, Cornmill Street, Cornmill Street Roundabout, Lake Road; and Cascades Approach, Hope Street Roundabout, Market Way, Market Way Roundabout, Commercial Road, Cornmill Street, Landport View.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
