What is happening?

ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

(Connaught Avenue, Frinton on Sea) - (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Connaught Avenue, Frinton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 10m south east of its junction with Walton Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd June 2026 -(00:01 - 05:01) for 1 night, or where stated on a valid permit (KL735TWN-69-79-020626 - Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while rail corrosion monitoring works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via: Connaught Avenue, Pole Barn Lane, Cliff Way, Waltham Way, Quendon Way, Rainham Way, Woodberry Way, The Parade, Church Road, Walton Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Freeland Road, Clacton On Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Freeland Road, Clacton On Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Tower Road to its junction with Wash Lane a distance of approximately 370m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2402047 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via: Tower Road, Marine Parade West, St Vincent Road, Wash Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hayes Road, Clacton On Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hayes Road, Clacton On Sea in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 20m north east of its junction with Rosemary Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st June 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30063260620 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via: The Grove, Alexandra Road and vice versa (with access only into Hayes Road).

The Order will come into effect on 14th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Millers Barn Road, Jaywick) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Millers Barn Road, Jaywick in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Jaywick Lane to its junction with Marlowe Road a distance of approximately 315m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th May 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2400127 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via: Jaywick Lane, Marlowe Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 30th April 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
