THE M56 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 7 EASTBOUND EXIT SLIP ROAD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M56 Motorway, in the Boroughs of Cheshire East and in Trafford, in the County of Cheshire, and the City of Manchester to enable survey of the existing carriageway, bore and trial holes, lighting column inspections, drainage surveys and core works; to be carried out in safety.

The Order will ban all traffic from the eastbound exit slip road at J7 of the M56 Motorway, from the last point at which the exit slip road leaves the eastbound carriageway, to the first point at which the exit slip road joins the westbound exit slip road leading to Bowden Roundabout South (Little Bowden).

The prohibition is expected to be in place between 21:00 and 05:00 during a period starting on Monday 1 June 2026 and ending on day 15 June 2026.

However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M56 Motorway and local roads will be well signed.

The prohibition will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
