Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Arley Ave, Stockton Heath (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Arley Ave from its jct. with Sandy Ln to its jct. with East Ave. The Order will be effective from 8th June 2026 for 2 weeks. The alternative route will be via Sandy Ln, East Ave & vice versa. The closure is required to allow for United Utilities to carry out sewer repairs.

The alternative route will be via Priestley St, Froghall Ln, Midland Way, Manchester Rd, Kingsway Nth, Kingsway Sth & vice versa or via Midland Way, Froghall Ln, Priestley St, Sankey Way, Liverpool Rd, Parker St, Wilson Patten St, Slutchers Ln, Chester Rd, Walton New Rd, Walton Rd & vice versa. The restrictions are required to facilitate the Neighbourhood Weekender Music Festival.

Birchwood Way, Birchwood (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 21st August 2025. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Birchwood Way from its jct. with Moss Gate to the M62 Jct. 11. The Order was effective from 1st September 2025 for 24 weeks, between 9pm & 5am. The works were subsequently delayed until 5th January 2026, however they are now required to remain in place until 6th September 2026. The access, alternative route & reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised.

St. Peters Way, Greenings Ct & Scott St (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 5th February 2026. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: St. Peters Way from its jct. with Orford Ln to its jct. with Battersby Ln; Greenings Ct from its jct. with Rylands Dr to its jct. with Battersby Ln; Scott St from its jct. with Chorley St to its jct. with Battersby Ln. The Order was effective from 2nd March 2026 for 10 weeks, with the works being carried out in phases, however due to engineering difficulties the works are now required to remain in place until 31st May 2026. Alternative routes will be signed on site. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to install a new HV cable.
