What is happening?

(Funtington – West Ashling: Down Street)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Down Street between Southbrook Road and Greenfield Lane.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst sewerage works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 23 May 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is proposed works will start on or after 23 May 2026 and will take 1 week to complete.

Any queries about the effect of the Order on vehicles using the highway should be directed to WSCC, telephone number 01243 642105.

(Bognor Regis: Pevensey Road)
(Temporary Daytime Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Pevensey Road in Bognor Regis from Waverley Road to Northcote Road.

The road closure is needed to allow a sewer to be repaired in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 11 May 2026 and remain in force until 17 May 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order the road will be closed in the daytime only, between 0900 and 1800hours.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site and access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Oving & Aldingbourne: Public Footpath No. 287)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No. 287, from its western end at its junction with

Woodhorn Lane (SU912043) eastwards to its junction with Public Footpath No. 291 (SU925051), a distance of approximately 1.8KM.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety due to a broken bridge.

Unfortunately there is no alternative route available using the Public Rights of Way network.

The Order will come into effect on 12 May 2026 and will last for 6 months or until it is safe to reopen the footpath.
