THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.199) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 7th May 2026, the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49,51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
As part of local safety scheme in the Torrington Park N12 area to help improve sightlines and road safety at certain junctions, the general effect of the above Orders will be to:
(a) upgrade existing lengths of waiting restrictions operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday to operate ‘at any time’ at the junction of Friary Way and Friary Road N12.
(b) upgrade an existing length of waiting restriction operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday to operate ‘at any time’ opposite Nos.60 to 62 Friary Road N12.
(c) convert a shared use resident/business permit holder only parking bay operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday approximately 7 metres in length into waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ outside No.130 Mayfield Avenue N12.
(d) upgrade existing lengths of waiting restriction operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday to operate ‘at any time’ opposite Nos.28 to 30 Friary Road and opposite No.34 Friary Road N12.
(e) introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions approximately 10 metres in length on Buxton Road N12 at the side of No.91 Ashurst Road and at the side of No.93 Ashurst Road.
(f) introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions approximately 3.6 metres in length outside No.93 Ashurst Road N12.
(g) introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions approximately 3 metres in length outside No.91 Ashurst Road.
(h) introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions approximately 3.6 metres in length outside the common boundary of Nos.92 to 94 Ashurst Road N12.
(i) introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions approximately 4.4 metres in length outside No.90 Ashurst Road N12.
(j) upgrade an existing length of waiting restriction operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday to operate ‘at any time’ outside No.56 Torrington Park N12 (on Friary Road).
(k) convert part of the shared use resident/business permit holder only parking bay operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday approximately 6.1 metres in length into waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ on Friary Road N12 (Side of Nos.1 to 8 Malvern Lodge, Torrington Park N12).
A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on Thursday 7th May 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 3rd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
