What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2001 SEATON ROAD) (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along that section of the C2001, Seaton Road from a point approx. 400m north east of its junction with Sycamore Drive, High Seaton, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 2.6km, towards Broughton Moor.

No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 25 May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for approx. 3 weeks and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
