What is happening?

(Cowfold: Fairfield Cottages)
(Temporary Daytime Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close a length of Fairfield Cottages adjacent to Fairfield Court.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst electrical connection works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 27 May 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is proposed works will start on or after 27 May 2026 between 0800 and 1800hours daily and will take 4 weeks to complete.

Any queries about the works to take place should be directed to ALS Civils telephone number 07883 247131. Any queries about the effect of the Order on vehicles using the highway should be directed to WSCC, telephone number 01243 642105.

(Henfield & Shermanbury: Public Footpath No. 2377)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along the length of Public Footpath No. 2377 from its junction with Public Bridleway No. 2376 (521258.665, 118793.768) to its junction with Public Footpath No. 2389 (521336.694, 118479.486), a distance of 350M.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety due to a bridge collapse.

Unfortunately there is no alternative route available using the Public Rights of Way network.

The Order will come into effect on 11 May 2026 and will last for 6 months or until the footpath is safe to re-open, whichever is earlier.

(Crawley & Rusper: Run Gatwick 2026)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which will be:-

(i)  Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of roads:-

Lowfield Heath Road, between the Surrey County boundary and Bonnets Lane; Bonnets Lane, between Charlwood Road and Hyders Farm; Charlwood Road, between Bonnets Lane and Old Brighton Road South; Old Brighton Road, between Charlwood Road and the A23; A23 London Road, between Fleming Way and County Oak Way; Manor Royal, between A23 and urban footpath E5417 Manor Royal to Crawley Avenue; A2004 Northgate Avenue; A2004 College Road; A2004 Southgate Avenue, between Haslett Avenue East and Hawth Avenue; Hawth Avenue; A2220 Haslett Avenue East, between College Road and Hawth Avenue; A23 Crawley Avenue, west of Tushmore Roundabout junction to Horsham Road roundabout junction; A2011, east of Tushmore Roundabout junction to Northgate roundabout junction; Ifield Avenue, between A2219 High Street and Rokewood Drive; A2219 High Street, from Ifield Avenue to The Boulevard; The Boulevard; Charlwood Road, between Bonnets Lane and the Surrey County boundary;

(ii)  Permit vehicles to travel southbound only on the A23 London Road between Old Brighton Road and Fleming Way. The Order is necessary to facilitate the holding of the Run Gatwick 2026 event

The Order will be operative on 10 May 2026 from 0800 to 1500hours. Roads will be closed on a rolling basis with event road signage indicating the duration of closure required in each road. Access to properties, carparks and Crawley Leisure Park will be maintained but may be restricted.
