THE A19 TRUNK ROAD (SHERATON INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in County Durham, to enable telecom maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on 14 May 2026 for 1 night, or until completed, and will take place between 7pm and 3am.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A19 eastbound exit slip road onto the B1280 and the southbound entry slip road onto the A19 at Sheraton Interchange; during which times suitably signed alternative routes will be available.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 13 May 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
