ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(CARR STREET, RAMSBOTTOM)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Carr Street, Ramsbottom – between Gutter Lane & Ducie Street

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate telecoms works

The alternate route will be via Carr Street, Bolton Street, Dundee Lane, Tanners Street & vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 11/05/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 2 days

(HARWOOD ROAD/BRADSHAW ROAD, TOTTINGTON)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

  1. Harwood Road, Tottington – between Carr Street & Bentley Hall Road
  2. Bradshaw Road, Tottington – from Tottington Road to a point outside house No.5 Bradshaw Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate telecoms works

The alternate routes will be:

  1. Via Market Street, Bury Road, Tottington Road, Fenton Street, Harvey Street, Newbold Street, Ainsworth Road, Cockey Moor Road, Church Street, Bury Old Road, Arthur Lane, Roading Brook Road & vice versa
  2. Via Watling Street, Tottington Road, Turton Road, Market Street, Bury Road, Tottington Road, Fenton Street, Harvey Street, Newbold Street, Ainsworth Road, Lowercroft Road, High Street, Hall Street & vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 11/05/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 3 weeks (08:00 – 18:00hrs).

(KENILWORTH AVENUE, WALKER AVENUE, DERBY ROAD, TAUNTON GROVE, LUDLOW AVENUE, CUCKOO LANE, WHITEFIELD)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Kenilworth Avenue, Walker Avenue, Derby Road, Taunton Grove, Ludlow Avenue, Cuckoo Lane, Whitefield – from their junction with Bury Old Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate United Utilities works

The alternate routes will be in place as and when required throughout phases of works

The Order comes into operation on 11/05/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 8 weeks.
