What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Middle Stoke, Limpley Stoke; from its junction with A36 to its junction with Church Lane to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via Church Lane – A36 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation at 09:00 on 02 June 2026 and the closure will be required for 4 days. For further information please contact OCU Group on behalf of Scottish and Southern Power Distribution at SSENStreetworks@OCUgroup.com. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) C168 (Part), Box; from a point approximately 40m south west of its property known as Ashley Firs for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out excavation ducting works and other associated works. Alternative route via C168 (unaffected length) – A4 – C168 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 5 days. For further information please contact Openreach Limited on 0800 023 2023. C) High Street (Part), Colerne; from its property known as The Three Shires Medical Practice for a distance of approximately 32m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out road crossing works and other associated works. 

Alternative route 1 via Market Place – Vicarage Lane – Watergates – Eastrip Lane – Widdenham – Tutton Hill and vice versa.
Alternative route 2 via High Street (unaffected length) – Silver Street – Bath Road North East C151 – Quarry Lane – Market Place and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days.

For further information please contact Openreach Limited on 0800 023 2023. Orders A) to C) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
