What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (STOCKGHYLL LANE, AMBLESIDE) (TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME TRAFFIC RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of:
(i) Stockghyll Lane, Ambleside, (east side) from a point approx. 20 metres north east of its junction with Cheapside, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 10 metres; and
(ii) Stockghyll Lane, Ambleside, (east side) from a point approx. 50 metres north east of its junction with Cheapside, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 10 metres.

The Order will come into operation on 11th May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 17 months and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
