Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Temporary Weight Restrictions Due To Various Works

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 -

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The A12 Station Road And Main Road And B1122 Middleton Road, Yoxford
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the:
- A12 Station Road, Yoxford from the junction with the B1122 to the A1120
- A12 Main Road, Yoxford from the junction with the B1122 for 195 metres eastbound, and;
- B1122 Middleton Road, Yoxford from the junction with the A12 for 246.64 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate construction of a roundabout. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:
- the A12, the A146, the A143, the A140, the A14 and vice versa.
- the B1122, the B1069, the A1094, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 8:00pm on 08/05/2026 – 5:00am on 11/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U4907 Hollow Road, Thurston
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4907 Hollow Road, Thurston from the junction with Church Road to Bury St Edmunds Vineyard to facilitate the installation of a fibre network.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Hollow Lane, Norton Road, Tostock Road, Thurston Road, The Planche and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2026 - 01/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of The C600 Highbridge Gravel Drove And The C6019 Sedge Fen Road, Lakenheath
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:
- the C600 Highbridge Gravel Drove, Lakenheath.
- the C6019 Sedge Fen Road, Lakenheath.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: the B1112, Eriswell Road, Mildenhall Road, Holywell Row, the A1101, Farthing Drove, Beck Row, Burnt Fen, Farthing Drove, Sedge Fen, Newmans Grove, Lakenheath and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2026 - 20/05/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1061 Bradley Road And School Road, Little Thurlow And Great Wratting
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
1. B1061 Bradley Road, Little Thurlow from 50 metres north of The Green to 50 metres south of The Green.
2. B1061 School Road, Great Wratting from 50 metres north of Church End to 50 metres south of Church End.

This is to facilitate replacement of a telecommunications pole and re cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: the B1061, the A143, the A1307, the A11, the A1304, the B1061 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 17/05/2026 from 9:00am – 5:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U7105 Attleton Green, Wickhambrook
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7105 Attleton Green, Wickhambrook from 55 metres southeast of Mole Hill for 30 metres south eastbound to facilitate a new electrical connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Mole Hill, Thorns Corner, the B1063 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2026 - 22/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U7064 The Green And Road From A143 To C659 And C659 Ashfield Green, Depden And Wickhambrook
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
1. U7064 The Green, Depden from the junction with Hall Close for 670 metres eastbound.
2. U7064 Road from A143 to C659, Depden from the junction with Wickhambrook Road to the junction with Hall Close.
3. C659 Ashfield Green, Wickhambrook from 30 metres north of the water tower on Ashfield Green for 170 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:
1. The Green, Wickhambrook Road, Chevington Road, the A143, The Green and vice versa.
2. Wickhambrook Road, Chevington Road, the A143, The Green, Road from A143 to C659 and vice versa.
3. Wickhambrook Road, Chevington Road, the A143, Church Road, Ashfield Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:
1. 18/05/2026 - 01/06/2026
2. 02/06/2026 - 08/06/2026
3. 09/06/2026 - 12/06/2026

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction On Part Of The B1106 Road From B1106 Roundabout And A1101 Icklingham Road, Fornham All Saints And Barton Mills
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for a 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the B1106 Road from B1106 Roundabout, Fornham All Saints from the A134 Roundabout to Culford Road Roundabout and A1101 Icklingham Road, Barton Mills from the A11 five way roundabout to the Travel Lodge access road to aid the use of Highways England diversion.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 18/05/2026 - 20/06/2026 from 8:00pm – 6:00am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2508 The Green, Rendham from the junction with Hill Farm Road for 50 metres southbound to facilitate the replacement of electrical cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Chapel Road, the B1119, the A12, Kelsale Road, Pinney Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2026 - 19/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U7126 Hall Road, Great Bradley
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7126 Hall Road, Great Bradley from 300 metres west of Three Tuns for 60 metres westbound to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Bradley Road, Queen Street, Erratts Hill, Pound Green, Hawbush Road, the A143, Sowley Green, Bury Road, the B1061 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 19/05/2026 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8539 Harrow Street, Leavenheath to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C533 Eye Road, Kenton from Butterfly Rest to number 6 to facilitate a new electrical service. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Kenton Road, The Street, Bucks Green, the B1077, Thorpe Lane, Kenton Road, Debenham Road, Eye Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2026 - 21/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C441 Main Road, Hemingstone from Bells Cross Road to Church Lane to facilitate civil works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be: the B1078, Clay Lane, The Square, Ashbocking Road, Main Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2026 - 22/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Footpath 18, Ipswich from footpath 72 for 130 metres north westbound to facilitate development works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2026 - 18/11/2026 (or longer if extended by the Minister).

3. U3434 Boulge Road, Burgh from the junction with Mill Hill to the junction with Clopton Road.
4. U3432 Hasketon Road, Burgh from The Old Garage to the junction with Mill Hill.

This is to facilitate the installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion routes will be:
1. Road to Hasketon, Hasketon Road, Boulge Road and vice versa.
2. Hasketon Road, Boulge Road, Thistleton Hall Road and vice versa.
3. Thistleton Hall Road, Road to Hasketon, Hasketon Road and vice versa.
4. Boulge Road, Thistleton Hall Road, Road to Hasketon and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:
1. 18/05/2026 - 22/05/2026
2. 26/05/2026 - 12/06/2026
3. 15/06/2026 - 03/07/2026
4. 06/07/2026 - 10/07/2026.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C756 Court Street, Nayland with Wissington from 80 metres southwest of the junction with Church Lane for 20 metres south westbound to facilitate stop tap replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be: the A134, the B1087 and vice versa.

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:
- C632 The Triangle, Culford from 200 metres south east of the junction with the B1106 for 100 metres south eastbound.
- C632 from A134 to B1106, Ingham from the junction with The Triangle for 100 metres south eastbound.

This is to facilitate remedial works from previous communications duct laying works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: C632 from A134 to B1106, the A134, the B1106, The Triangle and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 18/05/2026 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
