SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Grange Road, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Grange Road, from its junction with Lodge Road to the extended boundary between No’s 9/11 Grange Road. Traffic will be diverted via Dartmouth Street, High Street, Lodge Road & vice versa, & also via Dartmouth Road, Oak Lane, Oxford Road, Lodge Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 22/05/2026, effective from 20/05/2026. Purpose – to facilitate carriageway remedial works by South Staffs Water. (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit access for pedestrians via Underhill Walk. A pedestrian diversion route will be signed via Whyley Walk, Station Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 22/05/2026, effective from 20/05/2026. Purpose – to facilitate the installation of new ducting by BT Openreach. (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Woden Road West, which will be closed between the gable ends of property Nos 7 & 13. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Darlaston Road, Pinfold Street, Dangerfield Lane & vice versa. Advance signage will be installed at the Moxley Junction Roundabout advising no access to Woden Road West from Dangerfield Lane & to follow a signed diversion route via Moxley Road & Pinfold Street. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 17/05/2026 (9:30am-3:30pm). Purpose – to facilitate access to replace a defective service cover and frame by Severn Trent Water.

(Temporary One-Way Road Closure), (Compton Road and Woodhouse Way, Cradley Heath) (Temporary No Right Turn Restrictions) and (Woodhall Street, Cradley Heath)
(No Left Turn Restriction) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along St Annes, which will be closed one-way in a southerly direction between the junctions of Dudley Wood Road/Quarry Road to Fox Oak Street. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Quarry Road, Saltwells Road, Cradley Road, Newtown Lane & Fox Oak Street. A further traffic diversion route will be signed via Dudley Wood Road, Saltwells Road, Cradley Road, Newtown Lane & Fox Oak Street. The order intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via a right turn from both Compton Road & Woodhouse Way to St Annes Road. The order intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via a left turn from Woodhall Street to St Annes Road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work for the closure is expected to be completed by 22/06/2026, effective from 18/05/2026 (24hrs). intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Dudley Road West, which will be closed one-way in a westerly direction at the junction of Dudley Road East. Traffic will be diverted via Tipton Road, Sedgley Road East, Dudley Port, Burnt Tree, New Birmingham Road & Tividale Road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 24/05/2026, effective from 17/05/2026 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate urgent access for gully repairs by Haystoun Construction Ltd on behalf of Sandwell MBC.

(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along  Newbury Walk (cul-de-sac), which will be closed at the junction of Bluestone Walk. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 15/05/2026, effective from 11/05/2026. Purpose – to facilitate the connection of new storm and foul water sewer connections at the rear of No.13 Portway Hill. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Clarkson Road, Wood Green Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 20/05/2026, effective from 18/05/2026 (24hrs). Purpose – to facilitate access for repair works by South Staffs Water.
