Temporary Closure of Burton Road, West Bexington
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BURTON ROAD, WEST BEXINGTON between The Old Coastguards and a point approximately 935 metres north west. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 08 May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months.
This Order is required for health and safety reasons due to unsafe, collapsed highway.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Crossways
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 June 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of the order is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on Various Roads, Crossways as listed:
[i] The Scotton Way, Crossways in its entirety;
[ii] Lawrence Drive, Crossways in its entirety.
Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.
[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Various Roads, Crossways as listed:
[i] The Scotton Way, Crossways in its entirety;
[ii] Lawrence Drive, Crossways in its entirety.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Unnamed Road, Cheselbourne & Dewlish
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Unnamed Road, Cheselbourne & Dewlish between Pound Lane, Dewlish and Bridleway S15/2 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1500 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 7 September 2026.
This Order will provide Wessex Water to install a rolling road closure which will be introduced in two phases enabling them to install a new water main.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

The County of Dorset (Various Roads, Abbotsbury) (30mph Speed Limit) (No. 10) Order 2026
Dorset Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
When the Order comes into operation on the 13 May 2026 the effect of the Order will be to introduce a 30mph speed limit along Cleverlawns, Bullers Way and part of Burton Road, Abbotsbury.
