M27 and M271 MOTORWAYS – JUNCTION 3

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M27 and M271 Motorways in the County of Hampshire, under Sections 14(1)(a) and (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because of the likelihood of danger to the public during signalling works.

The effect of the Order is to impose a 24-hour 40mph speed limit on:-

a) all of the roads leading to or from both carriageways of the M27;

b) all carriageways of the M271 immediately leaving and approaching (north and south of) the roundabout; and

c) the entire circulatory carriageway of the roundabout;

at M27 Junction 3 (M271).

These measures are in the interests of road safety owing to the danger to the public posed by temporary traffic lights in operation whether work is being undertaken or not. Please see National Highways website for details.

The Order will come into force on 8th May 2026. The works are expected to last four months – the Order will remain in force for a maximum of 18 months or until the works are complete and the danger has been resolved, whichever is sooner.

The temporary speed limit will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when it is in operation during the works and danger period.

Ian Rosendaal, an Official of National Highways Limited.
