Temporary Closure of Half Acre Close, Half Acre, Catwell and Longfield Close

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Half Acre Close - from the junction with Quantock Grove to outside property number 1 Half Acre Close, for a distance of 84 metres; Half Acre - from the junction with Quantock Grove to the junction with Catwell; Catwell - from the junction with Half Acre, north-eastwards for a distance of 66 metres and Longfield Close - from the junction with Catwell, for its entire length. A total distance of 334 metres. This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out phased gas main replacement works (as and when signed on site).

The Order becomes effective on 7th May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 11th May 2026 and last until 22nd June 2026 between the hours of 08:30 - 16:30 (Mondays-Fridays only) for a total of 31 days. There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
