NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using that length of Footpath Hatfield 012, from Crawfield road to Wellfield Road, for an approximate distance of 80m.

Alternative route: no suitable alternative on PRoW network

The purpose of the Order is to enable maintenance works to take place.

The section of Footpath will be closed on or after 11 May 2026 for up to 5 days, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HATFIELD DURING THE ‘SLAM DUNK FESTIVAL’) (ORDER 2026)

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access:-

a) that length of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from its junction with B6426 St Albans Road East southwards, south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane/The Broadway roundabout, a distance of approximately 695m.

An alternative route will be via B6426 St Albans Road East and B197 French Horn Lane or via A1000 Hertford Road, A414 (Hertford Road)/Mount Pleasant Lane/Great North Road), A1001 Comet Way, Hatfield Avenue, Mosquito Way, A1057 St Albans Road West, A1001 (Comet Way/Roebuck Way/South Way), A1000 Great North Road, the Dixons Hill Road roundabout and A1000 Great North Road, the Dixons Hill Road roundabout, A1000 Great North Road, A1001 (South Way/Roebuck Way/Comet Way), A1057 St Albans Road West, Mosquito Way, Hatfield Avenue, A1001 Comet Way, A414 (Great North Road/Hertford Road) and A1000 (Hertford Road/Great North Road).

b) that length of Church Lane, Hatfield from its junction with A1000 Great North Road south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 40m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

c) that length of The Broadway, Hatfield from its junction with the A1000 Great North Road/B197 French Horn Lane roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Fore Street, a distance of approximately 197m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

d) that length of Old Hertford Road, Hatfield from its junction with A1000 Great North Road eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

e) the southbound carriageway of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane/The Broadway roundabout south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Oxlease Drive, a distance of approximately 1003m.

An alternative route will be via B197 French Horn Lane, B6426 (Queensway/Cavendish Way), A1001 (Comet Way/Roebuck Way/South Way), A1000 Great North Road, the Dixons Hill Road roundabout and A1000 Great North Road.

f) that length of The Ryde, Hatfield from its junction with A1000 Hertford Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

g) that length of Lodge Drive, Hatfield from its junction with A1000 Hertford Road north westwards to its junction with Greenfield, a distance of approximately 20m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

h) the A414 westbound slip road leading onto A1000 Hertford Road, Hatfield from its junction with the westbound carriageway of A414 Hertford Road north westwards, south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 212m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

i) that length of Mount Pleasant Lane, Hatfield from its junction with A414 Hertford Road north westwards to its junction with Pleasant Rise, a distance of approximately 77m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

j) that length of Park Street, Hatfield from its junction with Old Hertford Road south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Fore Street, a distance of approximately 605m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the event.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on the following lengths of Roads, whilst signs are in place:-

a) that length of A414 Hertford Road, Hatfield from its junction with the A414 Hatfield Road/B1455 Howel Lane roundabout north westwards, south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 3794m.

b) that length of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane/The Broadway roundabout, south eastwards and south westwards, to its junction with Oxlease Drive, a distance of 100m.

The Order is needed to ensure public safety and prevent traffic congestion for the duration of the ‘Slam Dunk Festival’.

The Order will come into effect from 8 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The event is scheduled over 2 days and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF AYOT ST PETER ROAD, AYOT ST PETER) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ayot St Peter Road, Ayot St Peter from its junction with School Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 120m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Ayot St Peter Road, Ayot Green Lane, Waterend Way, B653 (Marford Road/Cory Wright Way), Codicote Road and Ayot St Peter Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 21 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COOPERS HILL, KIMPTON) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coopers Hill, Kimpton from its junction with Porters End Lane north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Coopers Close, a distance of approximately 222m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Coopers Hill, Kimpton Road, B652 (Ballslough Hill/High Street), B651 High Street and Coopers Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 26 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON NEWGATE STREET VILLAGE, NEWGATE STREET AND WELLCROFT CLOSE, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street from its junction with Tylers Causeway southwards and south eastwards to its junction with Carbone Hill, a distance of approximately 1200m.

An alternative route will be via Tylers Causeway, Woodfield Lane, B158 Kentish Lane, A1000 Great North Road, B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway), Carbone Hill and Newgate Street Village.

2. that length of Wellcroft Close, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Wellcroft Road north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 25 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Street, Welwyn from its junction with Carleton Rise south westwards for a distance of approximately 104m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Church Street, B656 Church Street, A1000 Welwyn Bypass Road, B197 Welwyn Bypass Road, London Road, High Street and Church Street or via Church Street, B656 Link Road, Codicote Road and Church Street.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Spinney Lane, Oaklands from its junction with Wych Elm Lane south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Ninnings Lane, a distance of approximately 510m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Wych Elm Lane, Bridge Road, B197 London Road, Heath Road, Cansfield Road, Pottershatch Road and Spinney Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Hatfield Public Footpath No.012 from its junction with Crawford Road south westwards to its junction with B197 Wellfield Road, a distance of approximately 81m (“the Public Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south west side of Crawford Road, the footpath situated on the south side of Birchwood Avenue, the footway situated on the east side of West View and the footpath situated on the north east side of B197 Wellfield Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-

1. that length of Coopers Green Lane, Hatfield/St Albans from its junction with the B653 Stanborough Road/B197 Great North Road roundabout north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the Oaklands Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 5371m.

An alternative route will be via B653 Stanborough Road, A6129 Stanborough Road, A1001 Comet Way, A1057 (St Albans Road West/Hatfield Road) and Oaklands Lane.

2. that length of Deerswood Avenue, Hatfield from its junction with Badger Way south westwards to its junction with Hare Lane, a distance of approximately 98m.

An alternative route will be via Badger Way, Oxlease Drive, Travellers Lane and Hare Lane.

3. that length of Hare Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Deerswood Avenue north westwards for a distance of approximately 124m.

An alternative route will be via Badger Way, Oxlease Drive, Travellers Lane and Hare Lane.

4. that length of Garden Avenue, Hatfield from its junction with Cherry Way south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Ash Drive, a distance of approximately 176m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Green Lanes, Hatfield from its junction with the Coopers Green Lane roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Great Braich Lane, a distance of approximately 809m.

An alternative route will be via B653 (Marford Road/Brocket Road/Stanborough Road), A6129 Stanborough Road, A1000 Comet Way, Manor Road and Green Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (DIGSWELL PARK ROAD, WELWYN)

(PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a prohibition of motor vehicles in Digswell Park Road, Digswell, Welwyn as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Access to properties and to the car parks at the eastern end would be maintained. The Order would also revoke the existing 7.5 tonnes weight restriction in Digswell Park Road.
