Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Off Street Parking Places) (Loire Drive, Douglas) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to amend the Loire Drive, Douglas, Robin Park Car parks as follows:

A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, the relevant plan and a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be requested by emailing S.Eccles-Churton@wigan.gov.uk

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 1YN or by emailing the above quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/4860256 not later than 5th June 2026.

Woodview, Shevington – Temporary Closure

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Woodview, Shevington) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 1st June 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Woodview, Shevington from 1st June 2026 until 5th June 2026.

The alternative route for traffic is: Churchfield

The Order is necessary to allow electricity cable installation.

Lowe Mill Lane, Hindley – Temporary Closure

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Lowe Mill Lane, Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 8th June 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Lowe Mill Lane, Hindley from 8th June 2026 until 9th June 2026.

Please note that access will be maintained for residents where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow cable recovery.
