What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984  -  SECTION 14 

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS – BARNWELL ROAD, DALBERG ROAD AND JELF ROAD 

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable Thames Water to carry out water mains replacement works, the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth has made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily: 

(a) Phase one: 

(i) introduce a north-east to south-west one-way traffic system in Barnwell Road, between its junction with Morval Road and outside the south-western flank wall of Nos. 64 to 70 Barnwell Road. 

(ii) suspend the prohibition of vehicles turning left from Jelf Road into Dalberg Road. 

(iii) suspend the prohibition of vehicles travelling in a south easterly direction on Dalberg Road from entering the length of Dalberg Road south-east of its junction with Jelf Road. 

(iv) prohibit vehicles from parking or waiting (including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle) in that length of Barnwell Road, between its junction with Morval Road and outside the south western flank wall of Nos. 64 to 70 Barnwell Road. 

(v) prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, parking or waiting (including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle) in that length of Dalberg Road between its junction with Barnwell Road and outside the common boundary of Nos. 97 and 99 Dalberg Road. 

(b) Phase two: 
prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding, parking or waiting (including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle) in that length of Dalberg Road between and outside the common boundary of Nos. 97 and 99 Dalberg Road and outside No. 69 Dalberg Road 

(c) Phase three: 
prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding, parking or waiting (including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle) in that length of Dalberg Road between outside No. 69 Dalberg Road and outside the common boundary of Nos. 31 and 33 Dalberg Road. 

(d) Phase four: 
prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding, parking or waiting (including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle) in that length of Dalberg Road between outside the common boundary of Nos. 31 and 33 
Dalberg Road and outside the south-eastern wall of No. 10 Mervan Road. 

(e) Phase five: 
prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding, parking or waiting (including waiting for the purpose of loading and unloading a vehicle) in that length of Dalberg Road between outside the south-eastern wall of No. 10 Mervan Road and its junction with Mervan Road. 

2. Alternative routes for affected vehicles will be available via: 

(a) Phase one 
Dalberg Road, Effra Parade, Railton Road and Barnwell Road, or via Barnwell Road, Rattray Road, Jelf Road and Dalberg Road. 

(b) Phases two, three, four and five 
Barnwell Road, Rattray Road, Mervan Road and Barnwell Road, and vice versa. 

3. The Order will come into force on 12 May 2026 and continue in force for a maximum duration of 6 months, to allow for contingencies, or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. In practice, it is anticipated that the works will take 10 weeks to complete.
