HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 90A-F ROAD HUMPS AND THE HIGHWAYS

(ROAD HUMPS) REGULATIONS 1999

INTRODUCE RAISED TABLES, SPEED CUSHIONS AND PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham proposes to make the following traffic calming measures:

1. To introduce 100mm high raised tables across the entire width of the carriageway with 1:20 on/off gradient ramps at the following locations:

a. Maplestead Road, from its junction with Lodge Avenue for a total length of 15.3 metres (including on/off gradients) in an easterly direction.

b. Canonsleigh Road, from its junction with Goresbrook Road for a total length of 8 metres (including on/off gradients) in a northerly direction.

c. Goresbrook Road, from a point 1.5 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 538 & 540 Goresbrook Road for a total length of 27 metres (including on/off gradients) in an easterly direction.

d. Ellerton Road, from its junction with Goresbrook Road for a total length of 9.6 metres (including on/off gradients) in a northerly direction.

e. Goresbrook Road, from a point 13.5 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 452 & 454 Goresbrook Road for a total length of 20 metres (including on/off gradients) in an easterly direction.

f. Greenfield Road, from its junction with Goresbrook Road for a total length of 11 metres (including on/off gradients) in a northerly direction.

g. Wix Road, from its junction with Goresbrook Road for a total length of 11 metres (including on/off gradients) in a northerly direction.

h. Goresbrook Road, from a point 5.5 metres west of its junction with Vincent Road for a total length of 9.5 metres (including on/off gradients) in a westerly direction.

i. Treswell Road, from its junction with Goresbrook Road for a total length of 7 metres (including on/off gradients) in a northerly direction.

j. Goresbrook Road, from a point 9.8 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 84 & 86 Goresbrook Road for a total length of 9 metres (including on/off gradients) in an easterly direction.

k. Goresbrook Road, from its junction with Heathway for a total length of 45.5 metres (including on/off gradients) in a westerly direction.

2. To introduce a set of two 75mm high speed cushions at a 1:8 on/off gradient with a 2.5 metres length and 1.65 metres width, at the following locations:

a. Maplestead Avenue, outside Nos. 24 & 26 Maplestead Avenue

b. Maplestead Avenue, outside No. 33 Maplestead Avenue

c. Maplestead Avenue, outside No. 79 Maplestead Avenue

d. Goresbrook Road, outside No. 172 Goresbrook Road

e. Goresbrook Road, outside No. 154 Goresbrook Road

f. Goresbrook Road, outside Nos. 120 & 122 Goresbrook Road

g. Goresbrook Road, outside Nos. 107–113 Goresbrook Road

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 23

INTRODUCE ZEBRA CROSSINGS

Barking and Dagenham hereby GIVES FURTHER NOTICE to introduce Zebra crossings across the entire width of the carriageway and associated zig-zag markings at the following locations;

Goresbrook Road (raised crossing), from a point 3.5 metres east of the eastern kerbline of its junction with Canonsleigh Road for 3.2 metres in an easterly direction, with associated zig-zag markings from the extended common boundary of Nos. 538 & 540 Goresbrook Road for 22.4 metres in an easterly direction and from the extended common boundary of Nos. 530 & 532 Goresbrook Road for 17.8 metres in a westerly direction.

4. Goresbrook Road (raised crossing), from a point 17.8 metres west of its junction with Vincent Road for 2.8 metres in a westerly direction, with associated zig-zag markings from its junction with Vincent Road for 18 metres in a westerly direction and from a point 20.8 metres west of its junction with Vincent Road for 5.6 metres in a westerly direction.

5. Goresbrook Road (raised crossing), from a point 13 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 84 & 86 Goresbrook Road for 2.8 metres in an easterly direction, with associated zig-zag markings from a point 4 metres west of the extended common boundary of Nos. 84 & 86 Goresbrook Road for 17 metres in an easterly direction and from a point 19.8 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 84 & 86 Goresbrook Road for 17.4 metres in an easterly direction.

Full details of the proposals are shown on a plan, which may be viewed on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
