What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL

BERT ABRAMS CLOSE AND BROADBURY ROAD,
FILWOOD WARD – 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND WAITING ARRANGEMENTS – TRAFFIC ORDERS

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE it proposes to make the following traffic orders to regulate vehicles in the newly constructed Bert Abrams Close residential development:-

1. Ref No. CAE/RGW/P-1362A – the City Council of Bristol (Bert Abrams Close, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (De-Restriction) (20 Mph Speed Limit) Order 202-, the effect of which would be to introduce a 20 mph speed limit in the entire lengths of Bert Abrams Close in place of the existing 30 mph speed limits (which are currently by virtue of built-up area restricted road status due to the presence of street lighting).

2. Ref No. CAE/RGW/P-1362B – the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Leinster Avenue Area, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Prohibition of Stopping) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-

(a) to introduce prohibition of waiting arrangements in Bert Abrams Close; and

(b) to revise prohibition of waiting arrangements in Broadbury Road.

Further details of all the proposals are contained in the draft orders, which together with plans and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the orders may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The draft orders, plans and Statement of Reasons are also available to view on the City Council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/trafficorders.

How to object
Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to TRO Comments at the undermentioned address or by e-mail to tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk quoting the relevant reference number by 1st June 2026.

Please include your name and address and note that all representations received may be considered in public by the City Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
