ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C682 THE HILL, STANSTEAD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C682 The Hill, Stanstead from Haveligh to Flint Cottage to facilitate the installation of new telecommunication poles. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1066, the A1092, the A134, Bridge Street, Aveley Lane, Stanstead Road, Shimpling Road, Upper Street, The Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/05/2026 - 08/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE A144 HALESWORTH ROAD, WENHASTON WITH MELLS HAMLET

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A144 Halesworth Road, Wenhaston with Mells Hamlet from the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate crossing corrosion inspection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A145, the A146, the A143, the A144 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11pm on 16/05/2026 - 8:30am on 17/05/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE U8702 BEACONSFIELD ROAD, SUDBURY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8702 Beaconsfield Road, Sudbury from the junction with Gainsborough Road for 30 metres westbound to facilitate electrical repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Croft, Gregory Street, Gainsborough Street, Market Hill, King Street, Girling Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 16/05/2026 from 9am - 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY 3 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON

THE C324 BOOT STREET, GREAT BEALINGS

Suffolk County Council has made an order for the temporary 3 tonne weight restriction on the C324 Boot Street, Great Bealings on the bridge for safety due to structure deterioration of bridge. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Exceptions will be:

• emergency service vehicles

• vehicles used for highway maintenance or statutory undertakers’ works.

Access will be available for pedestrians and cyclists.

There is no diversion route available.

This order continues in force the emergency measures operating since 17/04/2026.

It is intended that the closure will operate until 07/09/2026, but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
