What is happening?

THE MID SUSSEX DISTRICT COUNCIL
(OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2006
(AMENDMENT NO.2) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Mid Sussex District Council in exercise of its powers under Part IV of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("The Act"), the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 whether generally in relation to the Council's area and of all other enabling powers has made on 29 April 2026 The Mid Sussex District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2006 (Amendment No. 1) Order 2025. The Order will come into force on 11th May 2026.
The Effect of the Order
The Amendment shall have the following effect:
To remove the 6pm to 8pm charging periods from the First Schedule of the Order for all car parks in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, and East Grinstead
To remove the definition of Disabled Persons Electric Vehicle Charging bays as these are to be treated primarily as disabled bays regardless of whether a charging post is installed.
A copy of the Amended Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be inspected during normal office hours at Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1SS.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may within six weeks from 29th April 2026 apply for that purpose to the High Court.
