What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(PROSPECT ROAD, CARLTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (G26-073)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Carlton in the Borough of Gedling.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:

a. Prospect Road, Carlton - From its junction with Valley Road to its junction with Standhill Road. 
2. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding Eastbound in the following length of road

a. Morley Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road to its junction with Standhill Road.

3. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and unloading (Both sides) (at any time) in the following length of road

a. Prospect Road, Carlton - From its junction with Valley Road to its junction with Standhill Road.

b. Forester Road, Carlton - From its junction with Porchester Road to its junction with Standhill Road

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily
suspended as required.

5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 hours on Monday 11th May 2026
Until 17:00 hours on Friday 22nd May 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Prospect Road -
Porchester Road - Forester Road - and Vice versa

Morley Road -
Porchester Road - Forester Road - Standhill Road.

The Order will come into force on 11th May 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable VIA East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Resurfacing works.
