ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 
THE A205 GLA ROAD (WELL HALL ROAD, ROYAL BOROUGH OF GREENWICH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, STOPPING AND 
BANNED TURNS) ORDER 2026    

1. Transport for London in consultation with the Royal Borough of Greenwich hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2.   The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable resurfacing works to take place at the A205 Well Hall Road in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. 

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from: 

(1) entering, exiting, proceeding or stopping on Well Hall Road between its junctions with Westmount Road and Shooters Hill/ Shooters Hill Road; 

(2) stopping at the north-eastern kerb line of Westmount Road from its junctions with Well Hall Road to the extended south-eastern building line of Nos. 406 to 414 Westmount Road; 

(3) entering, exiting, proceeding or stopping on Broad Walk from the extended western building line of No. 314 Broad Walk to its junction with Well Hall Road; 

(4) turning right into Well Hall Road from Westmount Road; 

(5) entering, exiting or proceeding in a westerly direction on Westmount Road between its junctions with Castlewood Drive and Well Hall Road; 

(6) entering, exiting or proceeding on Westmount Road between its junctions with Castlewood Drive and Well Hall Road; 

(7) stopping at the north-western kerb line on Well Hall Road between its junctions with Westmount Road and Broad Walk. 

The Order will also permit all vehicles to use the north-east bound bus lane  on Wall Hall Road between its junctions with Broad Walk and Shooters Hill/ Shooters Hill Road.  

The Order will be effective at certain times between 10th May 2026 and 9th November 2026 every night 9.00 PM until 5.00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only 
during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.  

Works will be phased such that some restrictions will apply only at certain times.   

4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of: 

(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes; 

(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs for westbound traffic via Shooters Hill Road, Sun in the Sands Roundabout and Rochester Way Relief Road or reverse to normal route of travel. for eastbound traffic via Shooters Hill, Bellgrove Road, Welling High Street, Park View Road, Danson Road, Danson Underpass, Keslake Road, Rochester Way, East Rochester Way and Westhorne Avenue to
normal route of travel. for access to Shooters Hill from Westmount Road via Well Hall Roundabout, Rochester Way, Westhorne Avenue, Yorkshire Grey Roundabout, Rochester Way Relief Road, Sun in the Sands Roundabout and Shooters Hill Road to normal route of travel. for access to Shooters Hill from
Westmount Road via Rochester Way to follow the diversion route above. for access to Shooters Hill from Westmount Road via Well Hall Road to follow the diversion route above.
