Notice Of Making Of An Order - Highways Act 1980
Cambridgeshire County Council has made Concurrent Orders under sections 26 and 118 of the Highways Act 1980 to reorganise the Public Rights of Way in the parish of Brampton. The effect of the Orders are detailed below:
(Public Footpath No.2, Brampton) - Public Path Extinguishment Order 2026
The above Order, made on 24th April 2026 under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish Public Footpath No.2, Brampton from OSGR TL: 1975 7024, proceeding in a north easterly direction for approximately 410 metres to OSGR TL: 2013 7038 where it terminates at its junction with Buckden Road.
(Public Bridleway No.40, Brampton) - Public Path Creation Order 2026
The above Order, made on 29th April 2026 under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create Public Bridleway No.40, Brampton from OSGR TL: 1971 7097, at its junction with West End (public road) proceeding in a south-south-easterly direction for approximately 100 metres to OSGR TL: 1973 7088 where it passes over Brampton Brook via a culvert, continuing in a south-easterly direction for approximately 28 metres to OSGR TL: 1973 7085, where the surface changes to one of loose chippings. It continues in a south-south-easterly direction curving round to a southerly direction for approximately 152 metres to OSGR TL: 1975 7070, then proceeding to curve round to a south-westerly direction for approximately 66 metres to OSGR TL: 1971 7065, then proceeding in a south-south-easterly direction for approximately 357 metres to OSGR TL: 1979 7030, then proceeding in a south-easterly direction curving round to an easterly direction for approximately 120 metres to OSGR TL: 1991 7029, then proceeding in an east-south-easterly direction curving round to a south-easterly direction for approximately 135 metres to OSGR TL: 2002 7021, where it terminates at its junction with Grafham Road (public road).

Copies of the Orders and Maps may be bought at the latter at the price of £19.20. Any representations about or objections to the Orders may be sent in writing to the undersigned not later than Wednesday 3rd June 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Cambridgeshire County Council may confirm the Orders as unopposed Orders. If the Orders are sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Orders.

The above Order, made on 29th April 2026 under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish part of Public Bridleway No.19, Brampton from OSGR TL: 1967 6989 proceeding in a north-north-easterly direction curving round to a north-easterly direction for approximately 92 metres to OSGR TL: 1971 6997, then continuing in a north-easterly direction curving round to a north-north easterly direction for approximately 77 metres to OSGR TL: 1977 7001, then proceeding in a north-north-westerly direction for approximately 152 metres to OSGR TL: 1974 7016, then proceeding in a north-westerly direction curving round to a north-north-westerly direction for approximately 223 metres to OSGR TL: 1963 7035, then proceeding in a northerly direction curving round to a north-north-easterly direction for approximately 306 metres to OSGR TL: 1963 7066, proceeding in a north-north-easterly direction for approximately 226 metres to OSGR TL: 1959 7088, then proceeding in a west-south-westerly direction for 161 metres to OSGR TL: 1944 7083 where the bridleway resumes.

The above Order, made on 29th April 2026 under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create Public Bridleway No.39, Brampton from its junction with Grafham Road (public road) at OSGR TL: 1948 6980 proceeding in a north- north-easterly direction for approximately 17 metres to OSGR TL: 1949 6981, then curving round to an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres to OSGR TL: 1949 6982, then proceeding in an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 188 metres to OSGR TL: 1967 6988, then proceeding in a north-north-easterly direction for approximately 28 metres to OSGR TL: 1967 6991, then proceeding in a north easterly direction for approximately 73 metres to OSGR TL: 1971 6997, then proceeding in a northerly direction curving round to a north-west-northerly direction for approximately 259 metres to OSGR TL: 1966 7022, then curving round to a north westerly direction for approximately 53 metres to OSGR TL: 1962 7026, then curving round to a northerly direction for approximately 138 metres to OSGR TL: 1957 7038, then continuing in a northerly direction for approximately 206 metres to OSGR TL: 1957 7059, then proceeding in a north-easterly direction for approximately 290 metres to OSGR TL: 1947 7086, then proceeding in an east-south-easterly direction for approximately 40 metres to OSGR TL: 1944 7083, where it terminates at its junction with Public Bridleway No.19, Brampton.
