Tamworth Borough Council Off-Street Parking Places Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Tamworth Borough Council proposes to make the above Order (“the Order”) under Sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and of all other enabling powers. The Order revokes all previous Off-Street Parking Places Orders made by Tamworth Borough Council and all of their amendments.
The Order will come into force on 1 June 2026.
1. The general effect of the Order is to: amend the days and hours of operation to include Sundays; remove cash (coins and bank notes) as a means of payment in all car parks except for Spinning School Lane; reintroduce long stay and short stay parking options for Spinning School Lane, Lower Gungate and Church Lane; reintroduce short stay parking options at Hospital Street; and amend the free parking period and operation hours for Bolebridge Street.
2. The Order is necessary to accommodate the above-mentioned changes.

A copy of the Tamworth Borough Council Off-Street Parking Places Order 2026 is available for inspection online at www.tamworth.gov.uk/ car-parks or from 9am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays (except bank/public holidays) until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made, at the offices of Tamworth Borough Council, Marmion House, Lichfield Street, Tamworth, B79 7BZ.

5. The deadline for the receipt of comments is Thursday 28 May 2026.
6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not made within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
