CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4401 CUMBERLAND ROAD, WHITEHAVEN AND BACK LANE OF PENZANCE STREET AND SCALLEGILL ROAD, MOOR ROW) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- U4401 Cumberland Road, Whitehaven, from its junction with Westmorland Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 90m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Cumberland Road, Cambridge Road and Westmorland Road.
Duration: From 11 May 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/17818)
- Back lane of Penzance Street and Scallegill Road, Moor Row, from its junction with School Street, extending for its entire length.
Alternative Route: via Penzance Street and School Street.
Duration: From 15 June 2026 for approx. 8 days (Ref: TTROC/18097)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 11 May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
