What is happening?

SOMERSET COUNCIL

Parish Of Woolavington - Temporary Closure Of Lockswell, The Causeway, Higher Road And Woolavington Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Lockswell - from the junction with Higher Road to the junction with Lower Road; The Causeway - from the junction with Lower Road, northwards for a distance of 353 metres and Higher Road - from the junction with Lockswell, westwards incorporating Woolavington Road, to the junction with East Approach Road. A total distance of 1617 metres.

This Order will enable Openreach to carry out underground cabling works.

The Order becomes effective on 5th May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 11th May 2026 and last until 30th May 2026 between the hours of 21:00 - 06:00 for a total of 19 nights.
