ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – (AS AMENDED)
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 44 CHECKLEY PARISH TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council, on the 24/10/23 made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along Public Footpath No. 44 Checkley Parish from its junction with Breach Lane for approximately 129 metres in a generally south easterly direction to its junction with Cheadle Road. 

The closure is required under the provision of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 Section 14 (1) (b) due to the construction of a housing development.

No alternative route is available.

A plan will be displayed on site to show the length of public footpath to be closed and the unaffected rights of way in the area.

This Order came into operation on 1/11/23 and has been extended for a further period of twelve months, until 1/5/27 or until the risk of danger to the public is over, whichever is the earlier. 

This extension has been given approval by the Secretary of State. If necessary, the Order may be extended for a further period.

Notice is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council on 11/11/25 made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of:

Thorney Edge Rd, Armshead and Thornyedge Rd, Rownall. Due to unforeseen circumstances the works (which were due to be completed 29/3/26) have been delayed.
