TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on the 06 May 2026 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along
a) Garsdale footpath from the north side of 50 Garsdale in a westerly direction for a distance of 75 metres.
b) Garsdale footpath from a point 55 metres west from the front of 50 Garsdale in a northeasterly direction for 21 metres.
The Order is required to facilitate telecommunication repair works. The Order will come into force on the 11 May 2026. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months, however the works are expected to be completed on the 15 May 2026. During the works all pedestrians (except pedestrians associated with the works and emergency service operatives on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above footpath until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
