OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF BEACON ROAD, BISHOP WILTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Beacon Road, Bishop Wilton from its
junction with Garrowby Hill along Givendale Road
onto Grimthorpe Hill along Swineridge Lane onto
Givendale Hill leading to Main Road, Millington along
Fridaythorpe Road, Huggate proceeding west along
the A166 York Road, Bishop Wilton commencing 30
June 2026 at 09.30 hours until 2 July 2026 at 18.00
hours to allow for DF06 highway defects to rectify the
reinstatement works for part of Beacon Road, Bishop
Wilton. The road closure is necessary to enable the
works to be carried out in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid
for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works
will be completed within three days. The alternative
route for traffic affected by the road closure will be
via Beacon Road, Garrowby Hill, Givendale Road,
Grimthorpe Lane, Swineridge Lane, Givendale Hill, Main
Road, Fridaythorpe Road and York Road, Huggate CP,
Millington CP, Bishop Wilton CP, Kirby Underdale CP,
Wolds Weighton Ward. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
