What is happening?

(SURFACE DRESSING – VARIOUS ROADS, DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY) 
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

The Council hereby give notice under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 of their intention to temporarily close the following roads at the following locations:

The closures are necessary in the interests of road safety to facilitate carriageway surface dressing works. 

The closures are planned to be undertaken during the period of 11th May 2026 to 30th September 2026 and shall have effect only at such times as indicated by appropriate signs. Emergency Vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL (THE GRALLOCH CYCLE EVENT) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in and around Gatehouse of Fleet to facilitate the holding of The Gralloch Gravel Cycling Event. 

The event will be held on 16/05/26 starting and finishing in Garries Park, Gatehouse. Utilising public roads Ann Street, B727 Gatehouse to Cally Palace and C13s Laurieston to Gatehouse and other private off-road routes to connect. 

U601s Ann St will be closed from 1200hrs on 15/05/26 until 0100hrs on 17/05/26. Road Closures and Parking Suspensions will be in place as required. Alternative routes will be available via A75(T) and A762. 

Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(U306S TANPITS LANE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U306s Tanpits Lane, Kirkcudbright, full length from 0800 on 18/05/26 to 1700 on 24/05/26. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate BT ducting works. No alternative route available. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained. 

In addition, at this time, parking will be suspended on Castle Street, Kirkcudbright from No. 23 to No. 27, and only when indicated by display of signs appropriate under the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
