What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SHEFFORD ROAD, CLIFTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Shefford Road, Clifton outside number 210.

This temporary closure is required to enable main laying work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 31 May 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Broad St, A507, Hitchin Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BIGGLESWADE ROAD, DUNTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Biggleswade Road, Dunton outside numbers 5 to 13.

This temporary closure is required to enable s50 – new foul water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 29 May 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via High St, Cambridge Rd, Eyeworth Rd, B1042, Sutton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HITCHIN ROAD, STOTFOLD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Hitchin Rd, Stotfold outside number 22.

This temporary closure is required to enable drainage works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 29 May 2026. Between the hours of 0800 and 1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via High St, Norton Rd, A507, Hitchin Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Zuc147 From Uc150 Bedford Road Old Warden To B658 Bedford Road, OLD WARDEN.

This temporary closure is required to enable Pre Surface Dressing/ Surface Dressing/ Lining and Civils Works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 May to 5 June between the hours of 0800-1800hrs. and 0800 to 1300hrs on Saturdays. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Zuc130, Ireland and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(NEW ROAD, CLIFTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of New Road, Clifton at a point to the rear of 73 Clifton Park.

This temporary closure is required to enable sluice valve repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 14 May 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Clifton Rd, B659, A507 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(ASPLEY END ROAD/MARQUIS HILL/STONDON ROAD, SHILLINGTON AND SHILLINGTON ROAD, LOWER STONDON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Aspley End Road - from Junction with Pegsdon Way to junction with Hanscombe End Road Marquis Hill - From junction with Upton End Road to junction with Shillington Road and Rose Hill Stondon Road - from jnc with Rose Hill to merge with Shillington Road at metal gated entrance for private land Shillington road - from merge with Stondon Road to Junction with Mayfield Crescent and Station Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable Pre Surface Dressing/ Surface Dressing/ Lining and Civils Works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take from 12 to 22 May between the hours of 0800-1800hrs. The road will be closed at all times during these periods.

The alternative route for this closure is via A600, A507, A6, B655 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(FOOTPATH BETWEEN CHURCH ROAD AND MOWBRAY CRESCENT, STOTFOLD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of footpath between Church Road and Mowbray Crescent, Stotfold.

This temporary closure is required to enable electrical box replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 22 May 2026.

The alternative route for this closure is via the footways along Church Rd, Olivers Lane, Mowbray Crescent and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 11 May 2026 for a period of four months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(POTTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 21)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Public Footpath No. 21, Potton which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2248 4888 to OS GR TL 2244 4887.

This temporary closure is required as a new footbridge needs to be installed. The closure is expected to take place from 14 May 2026 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 14 May 2026 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

(BIGGLESWADE: PART OF FOOTPATH NOS. 21 AND 76)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the lengths of:

l.  Public Footpath No. 21, Biggleswade which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1865 4522 to OS GR TL 1864 4521 to OS GR TL 1862 4468 to OS GR TL 1863 4467.

ll. Public  Footpath No. 21, Biggleswade which extends from OS GR TL 1864 4521 to OS GR TL 1864 4522.

lll.  Public Footpath No. 76, Biggleswade which extends from OS GR TL 1862 4468 to OS GR TL 1861 4461.

These temporary closures are required to allow for surfacing works to take place. The closures are expected to take place from 18 May 2026 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.
